Hi Stamping Friends.  Today's card features one of my favorite techniques.  Just smearing subtle spots across the page.  Really ... that's how it's done.  I will have to do a video on that someday.  The flowers on the bottom  are stamped using Pocket Silhouettes.  The butterflies were stamped using Mixed Bunch on so saffron, then punched with the blossom punch and trimmed off the top, then sponged in poppy parade.   This could be an Easter card or sympathy, or Just Because card!

Just a reminder ... Sale-A-Bration ends Saturday!  For every $50 spent, you get FREE Sale-A-Bration items.  OR  Consider becoming a demonstrator for only $125 ... plus FREE designer paper every month for a year (or digital studio download).  Click here to sign up, or email me if you have any questions.

Hi Stamping Friends.  Okay, another cake day ... it's the weekend ... My previous post had that pretty two-tier cake.  I had no one to give it to, and our family is really getting "caked" out.  Originally I just put the roses on the top of the cake and it looked pretty nice, but, again, I had no use for it, so I pulled off the flowers and the ribbon, and redecorated it for my grandson's birthday today.  I made his favorite thing ... Angry Birds.

I got a little lazy and had some leftover frosting (one buttercreme and one fluffy -- sort of like cool whip).  Well, I found out you can't mix the two together ... it caused a few drips on the red border.  But it worked great for his cake.  He still loved it.

It's the last week for Sale-A-Bration ... great time to take one last look at your mini catalog or your idea book for your supply order.  If it's over $50, you are eligible for your free Sale-A-Bration items from the SAB catalog.

Wedding Cake

Hi Stamping Friends.  I know this isn't a card, but I'm so proud of the way this turned out.  I took a two-session wedding cake class.  This was my cake at the end of our second class.  I'm so pleased the way it turned out.  The picture was taken at the class with my cell phone just in case it didn't make it home in one piece.  The transport went well, but the "vultures" at home couldn't wait to taste it (at 10 pm, no less).  I barely got it out of the box and the top was half eaten.  So much for taking a nice picture.

So, my cake classes are over for now, and it's back to stamping!

Embellished CASE

CASE from fellow demonstrator, Mary Brown

Hi Stamping Friends.  There are times, when the mojo just isn't working.  This was one of those times.  But there are others out there that have great mojo....and I'm so thankful they are willing to share.  The top card was a CASE (copy and share everything) from fellow demonstrator Mary Brown.  I love the way the flowers from Flower Fest turned out, as well as the simplicity of the card.  One problem, though....I can't do simple.  So, I stepped it up a bit and added a marina mist and whisper white background.  I also added a 3-D flower and pearl.  Both are pretty, don't you think?

To make the stamped flowers, stamp with white craft ink, and heat emboss with white embossing powder.  Then take a sponge dauber and lightly daub with marina mist in the centers (also sponge around the bashful blue background).  To make the 3-D flowers, punch out two Fancy Flowers in bashful blue and one center flower in the triple blossom punch.  Sponge the edges with marina mist, gently spray with water, and shape (curl petals using the paper piercing tool or something similar).  Heat the flowers until dry, and they harden and look like suede.  So easy ... so pretty.

Just a friendly reminder ... Sale-A-Bration ends soon.  To place your Stampin' Up! order, simply click here or email me.

He Is Risen

Hi Stamping Friends.  Easter is coming soon!  I like the way this card stands up, so it could be displayed nicely during the Easter season.  The card stock used is Wisteria Wonder, Concord Crush, Whisper White, Vellum, and Sweet Shop Specialty Designer Paper.

The Labels Collection Framelits work perfectly for framing the Easter Dove stamp, a single stamp available in the mini catalog.  After stamping and cutting out with the framelit, the dove frame is embossed using the Designer Frame embossing folder, which is one of the FREE Sale-A-Bration items (ends March 31st).  The vellum is embossed with the polka dot embossing folder.  The dove is glittered with dazzling diamonds.

Regional in Milwaukee

Me and part of my team....Kim, Nicole and Jessica
Shelli and me
Hi Stamping Friends.  I had an opportunity to go to the Milwaukee Regional event.  What a great day!  I was also chosen to be one of the helpers for the day.  Fun, but exhausting.  As a helper I checked people in, helped with the make and takes, and packed boxes after the event.  Makes me tired just thinking about it!

I also had an opportunity to chat with Shelli (cofounder and CEO of Stampin' Up!) for a few minutes at the end.  She is such a delight and so genuine.  She was right there helping clean up after the event.  When asked why she was helping, her response was, "why wouldn't I".  What a neat lady.

A few of my team members were also able to attend.  I think it's safe to say they enjoyed themselves as well.  They were talking on the way home about how things would be next time.  I have been truly blessed to have such a wonderful team (including those that weren't able to attend!).  They have all become good friends.

Have you been looking for an opportunity to meet new people, and be a part of a wonderful company.  Why not consider becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  This is the perfect time.....during Sale-A-Bration.  For only $125 (regularly $179) you can join.  Joining anytime is great. But joining now is fabulous.  Get a free paper pack or digital download every month for the rest of the year! This special offer ends March 31st, so don't delay.  Whether you're someone simply looking for a discount on fantastic Stampin' Up! products or you want to make it a business, simply click here or email me or call and we can chat.

Mixed Bunch Flowers

Hi Stamping Friends. This is one of those cards that is really much prettier in real life.  The colors are Island Indigo, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White and Twitterpated Designer Paper.  The Mixed Bunch stamp set was used for the flower and punch out with Blossom punch, with the center punched with the 3/4" circle punch, accented with a rhinestone.  The pleated ribbon add elegance to the card.  The sentiment is from Loving Thoughts.

Here is another cards using different colors, but the same layout.  You might also notice, that the cupcake layout in the previous post is actually the same.  All three look completely different.

Cupcakes and Card

Hi Stamping Friends.  I didn't have a chance to show you the cupcakes I made in my cake decorating class.  They were pretty fun.  Not too bad for my first attempt at anything like this.

This is supposed to be a sheep.  Pretty funny!

My favorite

Now for the card ... yes, I had cupcakes on my mind.

I have a feeling I'll be getting a lot of use out of this stamp set called Sweet Cake.  The frosting was stamped in pool party, and then cut out and covered in dazzling diamonds.  The bottom of the cupcake was crimped in chocolate chip (not real ones ... paper ... sorry, couldn't resist) and topped with a red glitter paper 1/2" circle cherry.

The cupcake paper from the Sweet Shop Specialty works so perfectly on this card.  The chocolate chip doily behind the cupcake is made from the Pennant Die.  The sentiment is from from the Perfectly Penned set in the Idea Book and Catalog.
