Making Sand Technique

 

Technique Time ... The crumb cake layer toward the bottom of the card is where the sand was "made".  A simple technique by spritzing the cardstock with water and using your finger in a swirl motion to bring up the fibers, which look like sand.  Then while still damp tear the top edge (tearing toward you).

Thick Basic White - 5-1/2 x 8-1/2

Basic white - 3" circle

Real Red - 4 x 5-1/4

Balmy Blue - 3-3/4 x 5

Crumb Cake - 1-1/2 x 5

Watercoloring Options

Technique Time. Learn this differences between Memento ink and StazOn ink, and how to watercolor with each.

 

Key differences

•  Base: StazOn is solvent-based, while Memento is water-based.
• Alcohol marker compatibility: Memento is preferred when using alcohol-based markers as it won't bleed, whereas StazOn will smear if colored with alcohol markers.

Open Trellis Technique
