Things I Love ... Chocolate

Here are three "chocolate" thank you cards that I made for a recent job interview (a chocolate company).  If I don't get the job, maybe they'll be interested in my cards to send to customers.  We'll see.

The cards, as usual, are prettier in real life.  The chocolate circles are all embossed using chocolate chip craft ink and clear embossing powder.  The card stock is early espresso, cherry cobbler, very vanilla.  Different embossing folders were used for each card ... elegant lines, polka dot, finial press, and square lattice.

One Layout Two Cards

This layout was taken from one of the shoebox swap cards that I made during convention.  The colors on the left are exactly what we made at that time.  The colors on the right work perfectly with the Jolly Holiday Designer Specialty Paper.  The colors are (left), crumb cake, concord crush, pear pizzazz, poppy parade; (right) crumb cake, old olive, and cherry cobbler.

The stamp sets are Just Because and Contempo Christmas.  How fun!

And the winner is ...

And the winner is ... Lynne C.  She was number 7 on the list and was randomly chosen as the winner of a $50 FREE Stampin' Up! shopping spree.  She was eligible by simply placing a minimum $50 order in the Customer Rewards Program.  When the brads filled the flowers, the drawing was held.

Here's how you can earn brads (sorry, only open to US residents)
  • Every time you order $50 in product, you earn a brad! This can be through any orders (clubs, party, class, via email, phone, or online through my website). If you order $100, you earn two brads, and so on.
  • Host a home workshop or private class and earn a brad for every $200 in workshop sales ($400 earns you 2 brads, etc.), or host a party/workshop with two bookings. This is in addition to the brad for every $50 you purchase.
  • Refer or bring a new "friend" to a club or class (your home or mine), and you would earn a brad for each new friend. Or, if the friend places a minimum $25 order with me without attending a class, you would earn a square for that referral as well.
  • Finally, if you become a new member of my team, you will earn FIVE brads.
Some additional details …This is for individual orders, not cumulative.  All product orders count, even club orders.  Class fees do not count.  You can also get a brad for hosting your own workshops.  Workshops can be held in your home, my home, or you can host a long distance workshop as well.  Club hostesses are not eligible for the additional space, unless they host an additional workshop with at least 2 non-club members as guests.

You can place your order at a workshop, over the phone, by email, or do it online ... click here and start shopping by clicking on "shop now".

Or, schedule your workshop today and earn an EXTRA $25 in FREE hostess rewards. Offer ends August 31, but there is still time to gather a few friends and make a few cool projects.

Mom and Me Class

My grandson, Ian, waiting for the next step

Mom & Me was a success as we made the pencil and card.  Unfortunately, the picture below doesn't show many children....this was taken toward the end of class, but we had 5 children with their moms.  We all had a great time and everyone was proud of their projects.  We have another session tonight.

Some of the moms and children (my cards are so easy, a baby can do it!  Just kidding -- but they are easy, we had mostly 3-4 year olds in the class)
The class schedule will be coming out within the next day or so.  We will get started on our Christmas cards (oh no, not yet) ...

Aviary Congratulations

Another step card.  I ran out of peach parfait, and needed another card for the girl's night out group, so I used River Rock, Concord Crush, and Very Vanilla.  This is such a fun card.

The Aviary set is one of those that I sort of liked in the catalog until I saw a few samples.  Now it's one of my favorites.

Baby Bundle Dresser Card

Isn't this just adorable.  I was in need of a baby shower card, so this is what I used. It's a CASE from Jackie Topa, using the same step card as the post yesterday.  I changed the colors a bit. The base is pretty in pink, and the bear is in close to cocoa (retired).  It's a little difficult to see, but the onesie is actually on a little hanger made from a paper clip.  What a fun card.

SUPPLIES
Stamp Set:  Baby Bundle, Baby Tees Wheel
Ink:  Pretty in Pink and Daffodil Delight Markers, Black Stazon
Cardstock:  Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Close to Cocoa

Under the Stars Cheers

This card makes me laugh when I look at it.  This bear from Under the Stars, has such a goofy grin on his face.  Our Girls Night Out group wanted a few whimsical and guy cards.  This is one of them.

The background is soft suede and more mustard, with a little strip of crimped cherry cobbler.  The bear is stamped on soft suede, then colored with markers of soft suede and peach parfait, accented with a white gel pen on his teeth (it really accentuates his grin).  The beer is colored with more mustard and outlined with sahara sand to give it depth.  The little circles on the side are punched up with gold smooch.  Great way to add color without adding bulk.

First Day Back To School

Back to school ... already!  This would be a cute gift for students to give to their teachers on their first day of school.  The pencil has Mentos inside, a Rollo on one end for the eraser and Kiss on the other for the point.  The card is 4 x 4 using the stamp set First Day from the Summer Mini (which only has a few weeks left to order from).  The pencil on the card is from the word window punch and cut to a point.

The colors are Daffodil Delight, Real Red, and Black.

We are hosting a Mom & Me event to make this set on August 16 (9:30 am) or August 23 (6:30 pm).  If you are in the Milwaukee/Waukesha area and would like to join us, email me for the location and reservations.  Cost is $5 per person making the project. All materials provided.

So Sorry

If this card looks familiar, it is made using the same layout as the poppy parade card a few days ago.  Our card ministry club was in need of sympathy cards, so this is what we made.  These colors are Baja Breeze (so glad they came back with it), and Soft Suede.  What a pretty combination.  The Just Because stamp set works great for this layout.  The sentiment is called In A Word, found in the Summer Mini ... which is ending on August 31st.  It has some great sets and supplies.  Check it out before it's too late!

Stamp Sets:  Just Because, In A Word
Ink:  Baja Breeze, Soft Suede

Owl Thinking of You

Isn't this owl just adorable.  He is made with the new Two Step Owl Punch in soft suede, whisper white, black, and Sunny Garden Designer Series Paper.  The wings are actually not part of the punch, rather cut from pieces of the scallop oval punch. The woodgrain background stamp adds just enough interest.  The other colors of the card are poppy parade and peach parfait.

Razzle Dazzle Thinking of You

Crumb Cake, Pacific Point, Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla and Blueberry Crisp are the paper ingredients for this card.  The Razzle Dazzle stamp set coordinates perfectly with the Blueberry Crisp Designer Paper.  When stamping the image, instead of stamping directly to the pad, I used the sponge dauber for the not quite navy and pacific point, and color the crumb cake flowers with the marker.

The sentiment is from the Thoughts & Prayers stamp set.

A Wish for Peace

Yes, it's a little early for Christmas, but not for those who actually plan and begin making their cards early.  This card, made with A Wish for Peace stamp set is so much prettier in real life than the picture offers.  Using Whisper White it was die cut with the top note die and Big Shot, embossed on half using the square lattice embossing folder, then stamped with Black Stazon, and colored with old olive and always artichoke markers, accented with daffodil delight, tangerine tango, and crumb cake.  The two-way glue worked perfectly to add dazzling diamonds to the out branches. The dove is cut out, covered with dazzling diamonds, and mounted on a dimensional.  The marina mist cardstock is a beautiful contrast.

Praying For You

This simple card is done in crumb cake (textured on one side with the square lattice embossing folder), and accented with not quite navy and blueberry crisp designer paper.  The sentiment is not SU, but it was needed for one of our card ministry classes.

Wellness Wishes Tissue Holder

This cute set would cheer up anyone if they were sick.  I found the template for the tissue holder online at SCS.  The Rose Red card stock is 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 6", 3-3/4", 3", and 3/4" on the long side.  Just fold on the score lines and tuck in the 3/4" along the back with Tombow glue. Decorate and punch large oval before gluing.

The other colors are Pumpkin Pie, and accented with Sweet & Sour Specialty  Designer Paper.  It's not visible on the picture, but the spots on the DP actually have a textured finish.

The sad looking pooch is from the set Wellness Wishes, punched out with the 1-3/4" circle punch, surrounded by the new 2-3/8" scallop circle punch.  The background on the pumpkin pie is embossed with the new Elegant Lines Embossing Folder.

The little 3 x 3 card is the perfect sidekick for the holder.

Just Believe

Just Believe -- this stamp set was one of the sets we received at Convention.  I love this color combination of Poppy Parade and Peach Parfait.  The Sunny Garden Designer paper just pulls all the colors together.  The 2-3/8" scallop punch is large enough to hold a good size sentiment -- this one is from the Refuge and Strength set (retired).

More Convention Photos

Mel & Me after we received more FREE stuff!  Paper, stamp set, ink, and glitter from the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog.
I won this stamp set and punch on "Prize Patrol".  Very exciting!
Me & Myrtle.  At one of my recent Girls Night Out stamp camps the ladies mentioned that in taking pictures you should put your fingers under your chin as I have them.  It's supposed to cover all the extra "chins".  I think I need bigger fingers or need to practice this a bit.
