Our Anniversary

Today was our 25th Anniversary.  It was a wonderful event.  Great friends and family gathered.  I'll get back to posting next week....after our little "honeymoon".

Wedding Anniversary Invitation

I've been diligently working on my 25th Wedding Anniversary invitations for January 28th.  I'm not used to actually assembling that many cards!  I usually just cut them and put them in bags for everyone else to assemble.  And as many of my friends and customers know, I'm terrible at actually SENDING cards.  With that said, if I mentioned to you about coming to our celebration, and you didn't receive an invitation, please email me and I'll give you the details. My husband was in charge of the sending.

The recipe for this card is real red cardstock, with basic black, brushed silver and groom specialty paper.  The circle image is embossed in silver from the Love You Much set (113756).  The "you're invited" came from the Mark the Date set (115034), also embossed in silver.  The brad is from the new mini called real red sending love (117270).  The "25" in the small heart (117193) is from the Hostess Level 2 Christmas Punch set (teeny "25" on the stamp).

Sending Love Valentine

I needed a "quick" card for one of my classes, and this one fit the bill.  Thanks to a CASE from Dawn Griffith.

  • The Movers & Shapers BIGZ die make the perfect frame for the large heart punch.
  • The paper piercer (otherwise known to my group as the pokey tool), adds a little interest around the heart, without adding weight to the card.
  • Sending Love Specialty paper punched with the heart scallop border adds glitter because it's already embossed in the paper.
  • The Teeny Tiny Wishes sentiment is placed over the top of the heart for a different look.
  • A red satin ribbon is the perfect finish for this card.

Stamp Set:  Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370)
Paper:  Very Vanilla (101650), Real Red (102482), Sending Love Specialty Paper (117153)
Punches:  Movers & Shapers Die ( 114506), Magnetic Movers & Shapers (115953), Modern Label (116630), Word Window (105090), Full Heart (113693), Pinking Hearts Border (117649)
Extras:  5/8" Real Red Satin Ribbon (117286), Paper Piercing Tool (116631), Mat Pack (105826)

Sending Love Easel Card

My goodness, it's been way too long since I posted ... I have been creating new things for clubs and classes.  This is called an easel card.  It folds flat, and when opened sits up like the picture.

  • The Sending Love Specialty Designer Paper from the mini catalog has embossed glitter on one side of each sheet of paper.

  • Create a sparkly heart by rubbing Versamark on Pretty in Pink carstock and embossing it with Iridescent Ice.  Then punch it out with the small heart punch.

  • The Heart Shaped Sweet Treat cup is filled with 10 pretty in pink punched hearts with a little glittered snow added.

  • The perfect bow in Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon is topped off with a Real Red Sending Love Epoxy Brad pushed through a 3/4" chocolate chip circle and attached with a 3-D glue dot.

Stamp Set:  With all My Heart (118623)
Paper:  Pretty in Pink (100459), Chocolate Chip (102128), Sending Love Specialty (117153), Whisper White (100730)
Punches:  Full Heart (113693), Small Heart (117193), Modern Label (116630), Word Window (105090)
The Glitz:  Heart Sweet Treat Cups (120435), Versamark (102283), Iridescent Ice Stampin' Emboss Powder (101930), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430), Pretty in Pink 5/8" Satin Ribbon (117289)

Tess Birthday

Last night I held a Birthday Bash Stamp-A-Stack.  We made 10 birthday cards, 5 different designs.  This is one of the cards.  The idea was a CASE from someone (sorry, I was in such a hurry, I didn't remember where I got it).

  • Thoroughly Modern Designer paper is a great way tie the colors Rose Red, Bermuda Bay, and Soft Suede together.
  • The Tote-allyTess clear mount stamp set is such a fun set.  Tess adds personality and joy to the card.
  • Tess never has to worry about dark roots on her hair, because you can color the creamy caramel highlights right in her so saffron hair.
  • Party hats and cupcakes from the Party Hearty set are cut out and glittered with Dazzling Diamonds and placed with dimensionals.
  • More glitz is added with a rhinestone brad placed in the center of the sentiment from the Wow Flowers set, colored in Bermuda Bay and Soft Suede markers.

Stamps:  Tote-ally Tess (118595), Party Hearty (111532), Wow Flowers (111714)
Ink:  Black Stazon (101406) -- markers So Saffron (105114), Creamy Caramel (100078), Soft Suede and Bermuda Bay (116329 set), Rose Red (100063), Chocolate Chip (100071)
Paper:  Bermuda Bay (115317), Soft Suede (115318), Rose Red (101545), Whisper White (100730), Thoroughly Modern Designer Paper (115673)
The Extras:  Two-Way Glue Pen (100425), Dazzling Diamonds (102023), 1" Circle Punch (109046), 1-1/4" Circle Punch (104403), Circle Fire Rhinestone Brad (109110), 1/2" Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon (115610)

Mojo Masculine Valentine

This card was for two challenges ... the Mojo Monday sketch challenge and a group of Stampin' Up! stampers that I belong to.  The challenge for the stampers group was to create a Valentine Card, preferably a masuline one.  So this is what I came up with.

  • The new mini catalog has a 48 piece stack of Sweet Pea designer paper that offers a large variety of choices.  This thick double sided paper is a good value.  Great for cardmaking and scrapbooking.
  • The small heart punch is one of the flat punches that stores in less space than the traditional punches.
  • The Love Bandit stamp set comes in traditional wood mount or the new clear mount stamp sets.  The choice is yours.

Stamp Set:  Love Bandit (118577)
Ink/Markers:  Black Stazon (101406), Close to Cocoa (100072), Real Red (100052), Going Gray (set 109126)
Paper:  Taken with Teal (101584), Whisper White (100730), Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Stack (117161)
Punches:  Small Heart (117193), Full Heart (113693), 3/16" Corner Rounder (109047), 1-1/4" Circle (104403), 1-3/8" Circle (104401)
The Extras:   Vintage Brads (109109), Paper-Piercing Tool (116631), Mat Pack (105826), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)

Mojo Watercolor Blending

I love challenges!  I also wanted to showcase this watercolor blending technique by using springy colors -- pretty in pink, pink passion, orchid opulence.  Here is a card using the same technique only using autumn colors.

  • Watercolor crayons are sometimes a beautiful, forgotten tool.  Pink Passion, Pixie Pink, Real Red and Orchid Opulence were the colors used.
  • Borders and birds make decorative additions that can be found in the occasions mini catalog.
  • Shades of Spring Designer Series Paper ties the colors together.

Stamp Sets:  Well Scripted (118601), Enjoy Every Moment (113622)
Ink / Crayons:  Orchid Opulence (101859), Watercolor Wonder Crayons Rich Regals (106698)
Paper:  Pink Passion (102762), Orchid Opulence (100969), Whisper White (100730), Shades of Spring (117160)
Cool Tools:  Eyelet Border Punch (113692), Pinking Hearts Border (117649), Extra Large Fancy Flower (118073), Whisper White Organza Ribbon (114319), Aqua Painer (103954)

The More the Merrier Hearts

Did you ever start with one thing in mind and have the project totally different.  Well, this is one of those cards.  I started with a challenge, and it's nothing like it.  I'll have to try again.  Typically I start with the sketch and colors, then add the image.  This time I started with the image first ... that threw me off.  It still like the way the card turned out though.

  • Punches are a great way to add different shapes, without having to cut them out with a scissors.  The extra large two-step bird punch is a great example.  The new style punch from the occasions mini is easy to use and convenient to store.
  • The heart border punch is a petite border with a big impact.
  • Embosslits are a convenient way to punch and emboss all at one time.  The heart embosslit layers perfectly with the heart punch.
  • Gathering with friends and family to stamp is a great way to earn the level 3 stamp set, The More the Merrier, used for the birds.  Email me to schedule your gathering.

Stamp Sets:  The More the Merrier (Hostess Level 3 115322), Tiny Tags (118592)
Ink:  Black Stazon (101406), Markers -- Pretty in Pink (100045), Real Red (100052), Chocolate Chip (100071), White Gel Pen (105021)
Paper:  Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Sending Love Specialty (117153)
Punches and Dies and other Cool Stuff:  Scallop Circle #2 Bigz Die (113469), Full Heart (113693), Extra Large Two-Step Bird (117191), Pinking Hearts Border (117649), Small Heart (117193), Stampin' Up! Scalloped Heart of Hearts (117332), Stampin' Up! Perfect Polka Dots (117335), 5/8" Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon (117287)

Sweet Pea Challenge

Challenges are great!  This sketch challenged really helped me to think outside the box.  It also gave me a great opportunity to use some of my new Vintage Vogue and Well Scripted stamps from the new Occasions Mini Catalog, as well as the Sweet Pea paper and felt flowers.

  • Creating your own designer paper with the Vintage Vogue stamp set is a great way to add color to your project.
  • The Well Scripted stamp set is elegant and versatile for any occasion.
  • Using one of the striped Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Stack ties the colors all together.  It would be a great stack for any scrapbooker as well.
  • Sweet Pea Stitched Felt Flowers are a great embellishment that can be easily attached to any card with a Snail tape runner.
  • Crimping a small piece of cardstock adds texture and interest.

Stamps:  Vintage Vogue (118598), Well Scripted (118601)
Ink:  Rose Red (101778), Pretty in Pink (101301), Old Olive (102277), Basic Black (101179)
Paper:  Pretty in Pink (100459), Rose Red (102544), Old Olive (100702), Whisper White (100730), Chocolate Chip (102128), Sweet Pea Designer Series Stack (117161)
Extra Doo-Dads:  Sweet Pea Stitched Felt (117266)

Circle Slit Border

I'm so excited for several things ... one, I FINALLY figured out how to edit and upload my video for the above card ... and there is only one day left until the new mini catalog and sale-a-bration will go live!  You can start on your wish list by clicking on the catalogs on the left sidebar.

If you are having difficulties view the video, click here to go directly to U-Tube.

Dimensions noted on video:  Real red 5-1/2" x 1-1/2", Very Vanilla 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" trimmed 1/2" off right side only after card is fold in half.

  1. The grid paper is a great addition to your supplies.  It can be discarded after use and the grid lines are very useful when lining up pieces of the project.
  2. The new Sending Love Specialty paper shines with glittery designs, adding shimmer to the project without extra work or supplies.
  3. The new 5/8" satin ribbon now comes in a variety of colors to add more beauty to your card.
  4. Corduroy buttons add dimension and elegance to any project.

Stamp set:  Well Scripted (118601), clear mount block size C (118486)
Paper:  Very vanilla (101650), real red (102762), Sending Love Specialty (117153)
