Birthday Pinwheel

Hi Stamping Friends.  As the end of the month approaches, so does the final days of the 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog. The Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper (retiring) makes the perfect backdrop for this pinwheel card.  The colors of the card are tempting turquoise, daffodil delight, and brights designer paper.  The tempting turquoise ribbon (also retiring) works great for the stick.

Stamp and Gab

Hi Stamping Friends.  This weekend I had the opportunity to attend an event called "stamp and gab" with my 8 year old granddaughter.  We made a total of ten cards.  My granddaughter did most of the work (I think I'm doing an okay job of teaching her) .... yes, I had to tie the bows.  It felt good to have someone else do all the creating.  Gave me inspiration for my upcoming classes.

Summer Starfruit

Hi Stamping Friends.  Today my great-granddaughter came over wearing this NEW color.  When I first saw her outfit, I thought, gee, that looks like our new In-Color Summer Starfruit ... sure enough ... it is!  She's holding a piece of the cardstock.  How funny.    It's a mix between mustard, crushed curry and green.  When paired with the right colors, it's very pretty.  Now I know what colors would match.  Stampin' Up! sure is up on the new color trends.

Knowing that the new catalog is coming out on June 1st, that means the retired products will be ending soon!  Don't miss out on your favorite items.  Here is the link to view the products.

Pink Loving Thoughts

Hi Stamping Friends.  I'm so excited!  I just got my pre-order and new Stampin' Up! catalog (going "live" June 1st).  I had a lot of retired stamps in my collection, but now I have room for all the new ones that are fantastic!  I love being a demonstrator and getting the sneak peaks!  For only $99, you too could be a demonstrator?  Do you just like discounts ... or are you searching for a business?  Sound interesting?  Send me an email with your information, and we can chat!  I'd love to have you on my team.

Now, onto the card.  It's a very simple card in Pretty in Pink and Whisper White.  The stripes embossing folder gave me a textured layer.  The Pretty in Pink designer paper (from the Subtles Paper Pack) are punched using the square scallop punch.  The Mixed Bunch flower is stamped with Versamark on vellum cardstock, and embossed with white embossing powder.  It's then punched using the blossom punch.  It looks like a plastic flower.  The sentiment is from the Loving Thoughts set.  Both the Mixed Bunch and Loving Thoughts are carryovers into the new catalog.

Hi Stamping Friends.  I started a technique class last week, and thoroughly enjoyed it!  Because I do so many Stamp-A-Stacks, I don't always get to "teach" as much as I would like.  This week we learned three new techniques, and each person received a 6 x 6 photo album, along with instructions to make each one (which they then put in their books).  This is one of the techniques (learned from Stamping School).  It's called faux linen.  It's really difficult to see by the picture, but the white image looks like linen.

The colors are limeade, concord crush (retiring in-color) and white gloss (believe it or not).  The image is from the Very Vintage wheel, and sponged with crumb cake, limeade and concord crush.  The sentiment is from the Perfectly Penned stamp set.  The limeade ribbon is tied with the linen thread to create a double bow.  The pearls are colored with a brown Sharpie marker.  The white just didn't work, but it needed some subtle bling.

If you are in the Milwaukee-Metro area and would like to become a member of our technique club, please email me.  We meet the first Wednesday of each month, and we are looking for a few new members.
