Faux Polished Stone Video

Faux Polished Stone

Faux Mother of Pearl

Hi Stamping Friends!  Yesterday was not a good day ... my day started out pouring my coffee into my cereal (hence no video) ... today is a better day.  I hope you enjoy this video I call Faux Polished Stone.  I have also included the Faux Mother of Pearl instructions in the video.

The stamp set used for both of these cards is Easter Blossoms (found in the mini occasions, which ends April 30th).  The top card colors are tempting turquoise, black, and gloss white. The girl and blossoms are stamped with Black Stazon, and the blossoms are "dabbed" with the white gel pen.  The girl is punched out using the 2-1/2" circle punch framed with the scallop from the circle scallop #2 Bigz Die.  To make this a Mother's Day card rather than an Easter card, flowers from the blossom were stamped on a scrap of tempting turquoise and cut out glue dotted on the bouquet the girl is holding and a couple in the basket.  The card on the video shows an extra butterfly next to the girl ... butterflies cover up ink smudges wonderfully!

The bottom card colors are black and melon mambo (brayered on white gloss) (yes, I did use the tulip border frame on the bottom one, couldn't help myself).  A piece of Black Satin ribbon and pearls add a touch of elegance.  The sentiment is also from the Easter Blossoms set, punched in a large oval and framed using the scallop oval punches.

If you try the technique and would like me to post your samples, please feel free to email your creations.

Sweet Summer Mambo

Hi Stamping Friends.  Well, I didn't get my videos recorded as planned.  Tomorrow should be better.  I have a workshop tonight, so the top card is one of the cards we are making.  It uses the Sale-A-Bration stamp set called Sweet Summer and Ice Cream Parlor designer paper.  The colors are Melon Mambo, Old Olive, and Whisper White.  The bottom card uses the same Sweet Summer, but it's in Poppy Parade, More Mustard, Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper, and Whisper White.  Of course, it's surrounded by the tulip frame embossing folder.

Speaking of Sale-A-Bration ... this is the FINAL WEEK!  It ends March 31st.  For every $50 you order, we can select any FREE item from the SAB catalog.  PLUS ... THIS WEEK ONLY ... I'm offering FREE SHIPPING to anyone who orders from me online (has to be through email to get this, the system won't allow it).  Place your order today!

Easter Blooms Chinese Lantern

Hi Stamping Friends.   Today's card is another CASE.  I WILL get creative on my own, soon.  But that just goes to show, that you don't HAVE to be creative to be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.  Now is a great time to join my team.  During Sale-A-Bration (which ends March 31), you get:

  • The Starter Kit (Standard or Digital+) is for 15 percent off--that's over $310 worth of Stampin' Up! products for just $148.75!
  • Plus you get a Bonus Bundle (worth up to $50) on top of the fabulous Starter Kit to get you off to an awesome start!

Starter Kit Bonus Bundle

Page Item # Description Retail Value
165 121620 Color Coach $14.95
183 120806 Simply Sent Something Special (or any Simply Sent kit) $11.95
183 117114 Live, Laugh, Love Set (or any Simply Sent stamp set) $9.95
202 119883 Full Heart Punch (or any punch valued at $16.95 or less) $16.95

Now, onto the card ... I used the Easter Blossoms stamp set which is so versatile.  The lantern was stamped with the blossom from that set, and punched with the 2-1/2" circle punch, then crimped through the paper crimper.  Of course, I HAD to use the tulip frame border embossing folder......The colors are cherry cobbler, black, crumb cake, and natural ivory.

Totally Tool Box

Hi Stamping Friends.  Well, I didn't get the video completed like I had planned, so I though I would post the Father's Day (or just plain guy card) for the second part of the Feed My Starving Children campaign that we are having at church.  The toolbox is a CASE, but I've had the picture for over a year and I cannot read the watermark.  So sorry ... if you created it, please let me know so I can give you credit.

The Totally Tool set is the perfect set for this card.  The tools are stamped in brushed silver and colored and cut out.  The silver background is embossed in a non-Stampin' Up! folder.  The crumb cake pegboard is embossed using the polka dots embossing folder then flipped so the dots are not popping out.  The yellow "tape" on the front is daffodil delight that was run through my printer with the words from the computer.  The other colors are black and real red.

Roses for Mother's Day

Hi Stamping Friends.  Today's cards are for a fundraising event that we are having at church called Feed My Starving Children.  Sometimes people just don't know what to get their loved ones, or their loved ones just have "everything", so this is what we are promoting.  When someone "buys" meals for Mother's Day, Birthday, Father's Day or just for someone special, they will get these beautiful cards with a certificate inside mentioning that a gift was given in their honor.  Wait until you see the guy card that I made so far ... it is sooooo cool (can't show them all to you in one day) ....

The roses were made the same as this video.  The background I'm calling faux polished stone.  I'll be doing a video on that tomorrow.  Come back and check it out!

Don't forget, sale-a-bration will be ending soon!  March 31 is the final day to get your FREE stuff for your $50 order.  Click here to place your Stampin' Up! supply order.

Easter Bunny

Hippety-hoppety Easter's on its way!  Gee, I'm really dating myself.  That's a really OLD song.  I just love this cute little bunny made from punches.  No, not my idea, but still cute.  In fact, the card was CASED from my downline, Cindy.  She pictured the bunny peaking over a fence.

Here are the punches used:
Face:  Ornament
Ears:  Large oval (white) small oval (pretty in pink-sponged)
Cheeks and paws:  3/4" circle (cheeks sponged in pretty in pink)
Nose:  Word window (just a corner of pretty in pink)
Eyes:  Owl punch (eyes from the owl - or 1/4" punch retired)
Carrot:  A leftover from the scallop portion of the cone die, green -- build a bunch

If you don't have all the punches, now would be a great time to order them.  Click here.  You could qualify for FREE Sale-A-Bration products.

St. Patricks Day

Hi Stamping Friends.  Today's cards use the same elements, but have a different layout.  First St. Patrick's Day (on the right) ... actually, I had a class that some people wanted St. Patrick's Day cards, but I didn't have the stamp and it wouldn't have arrived on time if I had ordered it, so I downloaded it from My Digital Studio, sized it and colored it to fit into bottom of the Two Tags Die, then printed a bunch of them on Pear Pizzaz card stock and punched them out. The hearts from the Heart to Heart Extra Large Punch were perfect for making the shamrock.

Not everyone wanted St. Patrick Day cards, so that's where the second layout came from.  The stamp set is from the Sale-A-Bration set called Punch Bunch.  The In-Color designer paper and pear pizzaz ribbon worked perfectly.  A splash of color was added using Poppy Parade.

Don't forget, Sale-A-Bration is ending March 31st.  Don't miss out on your FREE stamp sets or paper with your $50 order.  Click here to order your Stampin' Up! supplies.

Cupcake Birthday

Hello Stamping Friends.  I'm very excited for today because I get to teach someone the basics of stamping.  She loves to make cards at classes, but everything is all cut out and ready to go for her.  Now that's not a bad thing, but she would like to know how to get the measurements, how to use a paper cutter, how to use markers ... stuff like that.  So, that's what I'll teach her.   Have you ever wondered those things as well?  Just send me an email and I'll either set up a class (in the Milwaukee/Metro area) or make a DVD to send out.

Now, onto the card.  This is a CASE using the Petal Cone die found in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  The base is early espresso run through the cone die, then trimmed the bottom and side, and ran it through the paper crimper.  The pretty in pink designer paper (from the subtles pack) is cut from the die on the scalloped portion.  The melon mambo pompom trim adds a little more dimension and the cherry on top is a 3/4" circle from the red glitter paper.  The ribbon banner on the front is also from the die, and the stamp is from the Create a Cupcake set.

Don't forget, Sale-A-Bration is coming to an end soon.  Don't miss out!  Place your $50 or more Stampin' Up! order today to get the FREE stuff.

Aviary Best Wishes

Hi Stamping Friends.  More leftovers ... I had the Pink Pirouette card already cut out and embossed with the Tulip Frame Border (what else), and I also had the black and pink center cut.  So I thought I would use up things already cut.  This is what I came up with.  The Aviary stamp set works well in this smaller space.  The sentiment is from the Silhouette Sentiments Hostess Level 1 stamp set.  The black 1/4" grosgrain was already cut so I thought I would ruffle it to look like the cage is hanging from it.  The rhinestones are a simple embellishment to give it some pizazz.  This card could be used for an anniversary or wedding card.

Now is the perfect time to host your workshop. You not only are eligible to earn regular hostess gifts, but also Sale-A-Bration gifts as well.  If you are in the Milwaukee/Metro area, all you need to do is email me to set a time, and invite about 4-6 friends over to stamp and have fun.  I'll take care of the rest!  All of the supplies are provided.  Can't wait to hear from you to book your workshop!

Blushing Bride Easter Blossoms

Hi Stamping Friends.  Today's card once again uses a few things we've used before....Yes, the tulip border frame embossing folder and the Easter Blossoms stamp set.  The egg works well for the background of the Teeny Tiny Wishes Happy Easter sentiment.  The colors are black, blushing bride, and whisper white.  The girls is inked with a freshly re-inked pad of Stazon, which gave it a nice solid image.  The white background is stamped with blushing bride using the branch from the same set.  The punches used are Modern Label (black, flanked with 2 pearls), and 1-1/4 & 1-3/8" circle punches.

Don't forget, there are only a few weeks left for the Sale-A-Bration event.  For every $50 you spend you get free SAB products from the SAB catalog.  Click here to order your Stampin' Up! supplies today.

Egg Flowers

Hi Stamping Friends.  Today's card is another CASE (from Lisa Young, another SU demo).  My mojo just isn't working these days.  I think because I'm soooo ready for spring in Wisconsin.

This marina mist, black, and whisper white card is so simple, but pretty.  The flower was stamped using the egg from the Easter Blossoms set.  The sentiment is from the Perfect Punches set, and the flower in the center is punched using the Boho Blossoms punch, embellished with a few rhinestones.  The marina mist taffeta ribbon adds just a bit of texture (of course, you can't forget about the tulip frame embossing folder).

Easter Bliss

Hi Stamping Friends.  Today's card is one that we made for a new Card Ministry class.  Welcome St. Paul's.  The background is rich razzleberry, layered with crumb cake stamped in rich razzleberry using the En Francois background stamp.  The cross in rich razzleberry is from the Refuge and Strength stamp set (which is retired, but the Crosses of Hope set would work well -- I'll have to get that one) ... The flourish and butterfly from the Bliss Sale-A-Bration set are perfect accents to this card.  Topped with a rich razzleberry 5/8" satin ribbon and sentiment stamped from the Easter Blossoms set, which is punched from the scalloped oval and wide oval punches.

If you are interested in getting a card ministry going for your church or group, and live in the Milwaukee/metro area, shoot me an email.  The way it works, is you decide what kind of cards you would like to make, and how many (typically it's 6-8 cards, 3-4 designs), the participants keep one card, and give one to the ministry.  Everything is cut an ready to go -- no experience necessary, yet challenging enough for experienced card makers.

Nature Walk Leftovers

Hi Stampers.  Today's card was made with leftovers.  The very vanilla embossed with the tulip frame was a leftover from another project.  I used the soft suede craft ink spot to add a little vintage look.  The bird from the Nature Walk stamp was also a leftover from another project. It was stamped with soft suede, then colored with pacific point ink (taken from the ink pad by squishing the cover against the pad), and painted with the aqua painter.  The color ended up to be baja breeze when it dried (that's why it's a leftover -- I originally wanted it pacific point, but I have to say, I do like the softness of it after all).  The flowers are colored with the baja breeze and soft suede markers.  The baja breeze vintage flower adornment and chantilly lace complete the look.

Have a great day!

Punch Bunch For You

Hi Stampers.  Today's cards are the results of one mistake and one leftover.  The top card was supposed to be a cute fold card that I learned in Stamping School -- the Fancy Flower stamped with the Sale-A-Bration Punch Bunch stamp was actually supposed to stick out of the side, with a "Z" fold card.  Well, when I tried to adhere the Sunny Garden designer paper to the peach parfait card stock, I realized I put it on upside down -- oops, and designer paper doesn't come off as easily as card stock might.  So, plan B.  I trimmed it and put it on whisper white card stock, added a side strip of peach parfait.

So, I had a 1-3/4" half-circle already punched out of the designer paper, and I couldn't let it go to waste, so I created the second card.  It's done in Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait and Whisper White.  The scalloped edge was also supposed to go on the top card on the inside, so I had to use that leftover as well.  The white layer is embossed using the Elegant Lines embossing folder.  The ribbon is the 1/2" poppy parade polyester ribbon, secured with a flower brad.  It's sort of an odd layout, but I think it works.  At least it's not the "same old".

Have a great day stamping!

Create a Cupcake Birthday

Hello stampers.  I needed a dash of bright colors today ... really ready for winter to be over and the snow to melt!  Today's card features the Create a Cupcake stamp set and Sale-A-Bration papers.  The daffodil delight background paired with pacific point and melon mambo are such a good combination.  The color inspiration did come from the Ice Cream Parlor designer series pack in the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  The dots are punched using the Itty Bitty Shapes punch, and the decorative border on the bottom is made using the Tasteful Trim Bigz Die (#120893).

There is not much time left for Sale-A-Bration.  So make sure you get your Stampin' Up! supply order in today!  You don't want to miss out on the FREE stuff.
