Punched Posies

This card was used for my shoebox swap at convention.  We had to bring 25 completed cards, and 25 kits of the card.  Once we got there, we had 4 hours to make all 25 cards.  WOW!  Of course, some were much easier than others, but we really had to cruise to get them all done.  It was fun ... there were also prizes and food!

This card uses the Punched Posies Hostess level 2 stamp from the mini catalog, which is available until the end of August.  Actually, August would be a great time to host a workshop, especially with the $25 bonus that Stampin' Up! is offering.  To schedule your workshop, feel free to contact me.

Butterfly Big Shots

Butterfly Big Shots ... that's the name of my new Stampin' Up! team.  Meet Jessica, Me, Cindy, and Lilly (our mascot).  We attended our first downline meeting the other night and had a blast!

In case you're wondering on the name ... in my classes we joke about placing butterflies on our little boo-boos (ink smudges or whatever).  Some cards are covered with butterflies!  One of my customers took the butterfly cover-up a step further.  There was a ding in her brand new microwave, and yes, she covered it with a butterfly.  The big shot denotes the Big Shot, a tool we use every class (plus now they're the "big shots") ...

There are two starter kits to choose from, and you can customize (within specific price points) with your favorite stamps, inks and card stock.

1.  Standard Starter Kit -- $175
2.  My Digital Studio + Starter Kit -- $175

There's no obligation to do workshops and no penalty to drop.  If you wish to maintain benefits beyond the first full quarter, a $300 minimum sales and/or personal purchase is required.

Convention

We had such a wonderful time at convention!  I came home totally exhausted, but refreshed.  How's that for not making sense.

This picture is me standing behind some huge stamping blocks and tag that they had available to use for photo opportunities.

My new good friends, Joan and Mel, who I roomed with.

Meet Myrtle and Lilly ... our mascots.  Myrtle is Joan's mascot who has been all over the USA including Hawaii.  Lilly is brand new and she will be my new traveling companion.  They got along very well.  You'll be seeing more of Lilly in the future.

I didn't get much rest since I've been home, and I still haven't unpacked my suitcase (it's almost noon). Plus, I have a few orders to sort and cards to make.

I'll have more pictures tomorrow.

Come to Bethlehem

I know, it's a little early for Christmas ... I guess it's Christmas in July.  Actually a group of ladies wanted to do Christmas cards early to get a start on making their supply (some people plan ahead ... I was still making the cards just up to the time they got here ... so that certainly would not include me).  This new set called Come to Bethlehem is so striking when embossed in gold on Night of Navy card stock.  The backdrop is also brushed gold embossed using the square lattice impressions embossing folder.  It almost looks like gold lame fabric.  The modern label punch is used for the sentiment, and the gold surrounding the label is from the movers and shapers die.

If you would like to get a jump start on your Christmas cards, click here to order your supplies.

SUPPLIES
Stamp Set:  Come to Bethlehem
Ink:  Versamark, Gold Embossing Powder, Night of Navy
Card Stock:  Night of Navy, Brushed Gold, Whisper White

Black Magic

I'm not crazy about the title, but that's what this technique is called -- Black Magic.  I learned how to create this card in stamping school.  It's actually a very simple -- on black card stock, stamp the image in white craft ink, then color over the white with pastels or colored pencils.  To punch it up, add white gel pen to highlight.  Very easy, very fun!

Watercolor Trio is a great set for this card.  The colors are Pear Pizzazz, Black, Perfect Plum, and Whisper White.

Morning Cup of Tea

Whimsical stamps are so out of my element, but this card was fun to make.  The girls from the Girls Night Out Club enjoyed this card as well.  The new stamp set, called Morning Cup, features coffee and tea.

The colors are Poppy Parade and Daffodil Delight.  Other new toys (I mean supplies) are the 2-5/8" scallop punch and the poppy parade ribbon.

Elegant Soirée Awash Friend

The new Elegant Soirée designer paper is just that ... very elegant.  It pairs beautifully with Awash with flowers in Crumb Cake and/or Marina Mist.  This is the same layout only one is monochromatic, and one uses the multi-colored version of the paper.  The other colors used on these cards are Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, and Black. The 1/8" ribbon makes the perfect sized bow for this project.  The square lattice embossing impressions folder used on a portion of the card, was the final touch.

Vintage Studio Sketches

Studio Sketches is a perfect stamp set for a vintage look.  It's colored using the puddle technique (simply squish the stamp pad together and using an aqua painter, paint with the ink that forms in the lid).  The colors are Cajun Craze, So Saffron, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla.  For the remainder of the card, the distressing tool roughs the edges and then they are sponged with Soft Suede.  "Thanks" are stamped using the Rough Type stamp (found in the mini catalog), and punched out using the 3/4" circle punch, then sponged with the soft suede.  The vintage look continues by stamping the soft suede background with the Wonderfully Worn Background stamp.

To order your Stampin' Up! supplies, click here or email me.

Fast and Fabulous

This level 2 hostess set, called Fast and Fabulous, is a beautiful flower two-step set (however, I only used one step on this one).  Using all new materials, this card is so striking.  The colors are Concord Crush, Cajun Craze, Peach Parfait, and Whisper White (not new).  The speckles on the cajun craze are made using the new Wonderfully Worn background stamp.  The thanks sentiment comes from the Perfect Punches set, and the ribbon is the new 1/2" Concord Crush Stitched Poly Ribbon.

Elegant Elements of Style

This very elegant, rich looking card is even more stunning in real life (well, I think so anyway).  I love the new colors and accessories -- Early Espresso and Marina Mist.  The stamp set Elements of Style worked perfectly.  The inverted Vintage Wallpaper Impressions embossing folder is the backdrop in the early espresso, it's topped off with the Marina Mist 1/8" ribbon.  The edges of the image are roughed up with the distressing tool (I call it the "rougher upper" tool), and sponged with early espresso.

Fifth Avenue Lily

Fifth Avenue Floral has some really nice stamps in the set.  This lily is stamped with white craft ink, then embossed with white embossing powder.  Then it is colored in with Not Quite Navy, So Saffron, and White watercolor crayons.  The colors are baja breeze, not quite navy, and whisper white.  The little flowers along the side are made using the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, which can be found in the new Idea Book and Catalog, or the Summer Mini, which is still good until August 31st.
