Autumn Wreath

Here is a card we did for one our card ministry cards last night. The background is in Taken with Teal, I used really rust, very vanilla, and Autumn Meadows designer paper. The stamp set, Autumn Days, was stamped in really rust, chocolate chip, and taken with teal.

Very simple card (we made a few more involved cards, so we needed a more simple card, too).

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Bermuda Pinwheel

I just love how pretty this card turned out. The colors are stunning together. I used Night & Day Designer paper from the mini catalog. The other color is bermuda bay. The technique is called pinwheel that I will be teaching in my upcoming classes.

Turkey Pick-a-Petal

Just in time for Thanksgiving using the Pick-A-Petal stamp set. Very simple using more mustard, really rust, and ruby red for the feathers, and using the Circle Circus stamp in chocolate chip for the center point for the body of the turkey. A little glitter on some of the wings, a sentiment using the Falling Leaves stamp set, and we're good to go.

Very fun card.

Simple Thank You

This is such a simple, elegant card. It is a CASE from Debbie Henderson. It is half-embossed using the SU finial press embossing folder on very vanilla. The wheat, from Autumn Days stamp set, is double stamped in bravo burgundy. The cardstock is also bravo burgundy. The ribbon is a retired SU organza ribbon. The "thank you" sentiment is from the Fresh Cuts stamp set, but any other sentiment could be used.

This card will be used at our girls night out cardmaking session tonight. I have this bow maker thing that we'll try tonight. I actually don't have any problems making bows, but I know others do, so we'll see how it goes.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Bookmarks

My 6-year old granddaughter, Zoey, and I exhibited at a vendor fair that was themed Halloween. I don't "do" halloween, so we made these cute little Make-N-Takes in orange and black. The fair was a fund raiser for a young dance group, so these were a great hit.

Zoey was such a great help. She sorted and handed out the pieces that were mostly cut beforehand (the scallops, strips, hearts, and black circles. At the fair we ran the bear embosslit through the Big Shot, and the children glued the pieces together, as well as stamped the little bear from the Seal of Pawthenticity stamp on whisper white and punched it out with the 1-1/4" punch. The ribbon was stuck on with a small glue dot.

Can you tell which one Zoey made and which one I made?

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Twisted Rose

One of the advantages of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is receiving our monthly "Success" Magazine, which gives great information and ideas for stamping. One idea this month was making a "twisted" rose with ribbon. I tried 3 different colors (of course, the color I wanted to do I didn't have enough ribbon for ...). Anyway, these are what I came up with.

My 2 favorites are the melon mambo and real red. The rust one is so-so.

Recipes:
Rust -- Chocolate chip, autumn meadows designer paper, taken with teal, very vanilla, dusty durango
Red -- Basic black, real red, bridal specialty designer paper
Melon Mambo -- Melon mambo, bride specialty paper, whisper white

Designer Ornament Vase

For this card I used the ornament punch on the bride specialty paper for the vase. It is colorized by using a taken with teal sponge dauber to spread onto the designer paper. The swirls in the design remain.

Using chocolate chip ink, I've added a few banch-type things coming out of the vase (not sure what type of plant they are supposed to be), but they are from the autumn days stamp set (very versatile set). The teal designer paper used is from autumn meadows. And, yes, teeny tiny wishes was used for the sentiment punch out with the word window punch. A little paper piercing and overall spritzing with champagne mist and rubbing alcohol mixture for a little shimmer, and a touch of ribbon on the side completes this card.

Mojo Acetate Leaves

Another Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Talk about losing your mojo ... what a bad day. This is the second card I tried, and I'm still not thrilled about it. I like the acetate leaves, but that's about it.

I finally got my mojo back with the third card I made today (I'll post it tomorrow), only I didn't use this sketch.

The cardstock is dusty durango, crushed curry and whisper white. The stamp sets are Autumn Days and Autumn Splendor, and of course, my standy by, Teeny Tiny Wishes. The ink colors are dusty durango and crushed curry. The background is texturized with the texture plate.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Happy Bearthday

This one is such a fun card. I love the way it turned out. The cardstock is bashful blue, basic black, pretty in pink and whisper white. The Night & Day designer paper (from the mini catalog) is the background behind the circle. The stamp set is called Beary Best Friends.

Things I Love

This is a sketch challenge that gave me an opportunity to use this stamp set -- Things I Love. It was a nice change from Fall and Christmas.

I used chocolate chip and pixie pink as my color scheme. The designer paper layer is called To the Nines. The images are embossed to give it an extra richness.

Beary Best Wishes

This was a sketch challenge from PPA. It was a fun challenge that turned out cute. I finally used my Build-A-Bear toys from the mini catalog. I started with this cute embosslit called Lil' Paws in creamy caramel and the sentiment is from the set called Beary Nice Wishes. The cardstock is green galore and real red, with accents from Merry Moments designer paper.

Large Postage Stamp

Fall ... Christmas ... Fall ... Christmas ... I'm so confused!!!

The garden green background for this card came about through error (sometimes those are the best ones). I wanted to make the entire card just using the square scallop die. I folded the cardstock in half and placed it in used the large square scallop die and made the card. It look so small, so I took apart the card and placed the green on the very vanilla background. The green extended just a tad over the card and I didn't like the way that looked, so I trimmed off the scallops and it gave it a postage stamp look.

Also used in the card are really red, Merry Moments designer paper, really red grosgrain ribbon, and the Merry Details sizlet. The poinsettia border and iridescent ice embossed snowflake is from the Patterned Pines hostess level 1 in the mini catalog.

Thanksgiving in Teal

I needed another quick card for the card ministry last night, and this is what I came up with.

This one is in taken with teal, textured with the texture plate and sponged over that to emphasize the "pillows". The other color is dusty durango, which gave it a more rich look, rather than using really rust. The sentiment is from the Hostess Level 1 Holiday Best, stamped on very vanilla that was die cut from the Bigz Die called Two Tags. After the picture was taken, I added 3 brads on the top left side.

Fall Medallion

I needed a quick card for tonight's card ministry. I had forgotten that one of the ladies joining us just made all the cards. Some will be repeats for her, but at least not all of them.

This card is made using the medallion stamp on very vanilla, and sponged with dusty durango and crushed curry. The colors blend nicely. Then its mounted on not quite navy on dusty durango card stock. The circle in the middle is the 1-3/4" circle punch, also sponged, then the 1-5/8" & 1-1/4" circle for the sentiment (not SU). It still needed something so I added the embellishments on the top (also sponged) using the designer label punch cut and added 1/4" dots from not quite navy. Since these cards are typically mailed, I'm trying to be more conscious of keeping things as flat as possible. The leaves were just added (not sure about that part though). I'll leave it up to the cardmakers if they want to add them.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Back to Christmas

Gee, that was a quick fall ... actually they're predicting snow in our area ... way too early!!!

I'm holding another stamp-a-stack and I needed another card so this is what I came up with. I wanted to try Patty's technique of making a frame with an embossing folder. It works pretty slick. I couldn't find an oval, so I used the rectangle. The tree is embossed and cut out and attached with pop dots.

The recipe is night of navy, whisper white, brushed silver. The stamp sets are Season of Joy and Christmas Classics.

Mojo107 Tree

I'm finally able to get back into the swing of doing challenges and sketches. They are so inspiring.

For this card I used soft suede, rich razzleberry and whisper white. The stamp set is the good standby ... Lovely as a Tree. Very simple, but elegant.

Scarecrow Thanks

This one couldn't wait to post. I just loved the way it turned out. Thank you to LeeAnn Greff for the great idea that I copied pretty much. I added legs and changed the layout a bit.

The colors are brocade blue, really rust, more mustard, and blush blossom with the shirt out of Pawsitively Prints in the mini (not just for bears!). I used the following punches: Large tag, 3/4" square, Scallop square, 1 3/8" circle, word window, slot punch, flower punch, modern label.

Give Thanks

I'm having a "Grateful and Thanks" stamp-a-stack tomorrow night and this is one of the cards we'll be making. Due to a few cancellations, I'm able to open up this event to others. If you are in the Milwaukee metro area and would like to join us we'll be making 10 cards, 5 designs for $15. Email me if you are intersted and I'll give you my address and further details.

I learned how to make this card in Stamping School, so I can't take credit for the design. It's a fairly simple card, but very pretty IRL. It has the champagne shimmer paint mixed with rubbing alcohol misted over the entire card. It's just such a pretty addition to the card.
I used really rust, Autumn Meadows DP and Autumn Splendor stamp set, both from the mini catalog, embossed the leaves and sentiment called Holiday Best (hostess level 1), added a little gold cord, and ended up with this beautiful card.

Back to Fall

Now that I've done a few Christmas cards, I decided to go back to fall before the season is gone. This is one of the cards that we'll be doing in our clubs. The background is done with crayons that are scribbled on, then smeared around with aqua painters. I like the way it turned out. The cardstock is more mustard, elegant eggplant and very vanilla. The stamp set is called Falling Leaves and the background is the Bright Blessings wheel that goes with the set.

Nativity Christmas Card

One of my friends loved this set called Holy Family (from the mini) and wanted me to design something for her Christmas cards this year. This is what I came up with. I sponged around the image with soft suede and creamy caramel. I masked the image so it would pop out. I hope she likes it.
