School Days

Back to where I started from ... scrapbooking. My granddaughter started kindergarten, and I wanted to at least get one page made for her. Since I started card-making, I've not scrapped much. This is an 8 x 8 two page layout for her first day of school. I just used primary colors and used punches for the crayons, clipboard and scissors. The stamp sets are retired sets, but they worked well for this layout.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

The last card that was used for our stamp-a-stack. This is a CASE, but I don't remember where I got it from, I was sort of in a hurry to get the last card made before the class.

The colors are tempting turqoise, real red, and whisper white. I just used a mask for the circle, sponged and embossed the red.

Serene Snowflakes

I know it's a little early for snowflakes, but I wanted to post one of the cards for our Christmas stamp-a-stack. This card uses one of the new stamps from the upcoming mini (finally here next week!) called Serene Snowflakes. The background paper is on kraft and the white bottom and and center stripe are from the Bridal Specialty paper. The stripe is just sponged with a dauber in rich razzleberry ink. The shiny lines do not accept the ink. Everything is embossed in silver. The Merry Christmas sentiment is also from the new mini called Four the Holidays.

Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.

Thinking Trendy Trees

I needed another card for a card club last night, and this is what I came up with. I love the trendy trees stamp set, and I bought the matching wheel a while back, and I finally got to use it. The trees on the bottom are wheeled with really rust craft ink then embossed with clear. The trees in the image are "thumped" and "rock & rolled". The designer paper on the bottom is from the upcoming Autumn Meadows. That paper is so pretty, I can't wait until all of you get to see it in the new mini coming out next week! The cardstock is chocolate chip and taken with teal.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Autumn Thanks

Another sneak peak of the Autumn Splendor stamp set from the upcoming mini catalog. The leaves are embossed with clear EP. The card was placed in the mover and shapers die using the scallop oval insert. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes. Colors are soft suede and dusty durango. Ink colors are really rust and old olive.

Thanks for stopping by.

Mini Cork Board

This is a PPA challenge -- to make something 3-D. A cute gift idea ... a mini-cork board with a magnetic back ... that would work great for the fridge. I originally had a flower in mind, but my new shimmery paints were calling me to use them with the Serene Snowflake stamp set (available September 1st in the new mini catalog). The pin has a snowflake stamped on a 3/4" circle then glued to a glass bead and then glued to a thumb tack. The cork is 1/4" thick and is a 3" x 3" square. The colors are kraft, soft suede and bashful blue. The sentiment is from the hostess level 2 stamp set called Christmas Punch. Now is the best time to schedule your own personal workshop. Contact me if you are interested.

Happy Birthday Human

This is a really cool card we made at our upline meeting. There are so many neat features on this card...first I love the silver embossing on the front. Instead of using aluminum foil, we used the aluminum tape that is used for heat ducts. You can find it at any hardware store in their heating section. If you do buy a roll (about $8 per roll for 1-1/2 wide), make sure you don't buy the roll with writing on it. It is not a layer of plastic, it's actually printed on the roll (yep, I made that mistake).

The next neat feature is the way it opens up. The back layer, along with another layer, pull up at the same time. This is not a card for a beginner, but for the person who loves a challenge, this is the card for you.

The recipe is black, basic gray, whisper white and ruby red. The stamp set is from Lots of Bots (#115293 pg 82). This set is also in the "growing up" section in the catalog. For every $35 you order from this section, you get a set of buttons FREE.

Christmas Wishes

So many challenges ... so little time! Mojo Monday is having a sketch a day in celebration of their 100th sketch. This is yesterday's sketch. I also incorporated another challenge that stated you had to have something warm and fuzzy. My red and white paper is actually flocked, so that is my warm and fuzzy.

The designer specialty paper is also a sneak peak from the new mini catalog coming out September 1st. One of the cool features of this mini is, they also offer 2 hostess gifts, one level 1 and one level 2. Why not have your very own workshop and earn one of these hostess gifts, along with free stuff. To book your workshop with me, just send me an email or give me a call (262-783-5718). Call today, for my schedule is filling fast.

By the way, I'm doing Christmas early, because I have a few upcoming classes that I need to design cards for ...

The recipe for the card is: soft suede, real red, Christmas Cocoa Specialty Paper, red polka dot ribbon, and the stamp set is Gifts of Christmas (in the Idea Book). The dove is glittered with stickles, which caused it to curl a little ... it make it also gave it more dimension. I also stickled the red flowers and put silver liquid pearls on the leaves.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Mojo Christmas

This is a double challenge ... Mojo Monday and color challenge. The colors are taken with teal, close to cocoa and very vanilla. I had no intention of making a Christmas card, but the paper matched the colors, and it seemed to work out perfectly.
The stamp sets I used were French Filigree and Holiday Best (hostess level 1) and the designer paper is Holiday Lounge.

Autumn Days

I wanted to make something new for my class tonight, but I had a heavy heart. My DIL's best friend and boyfriend drowned over the weekend. So tragic, so young (29 & 31). They always attended our family functions and will be greatly missed.

The recipe for the card are rich razzleberry, crushed curry, dusty durango, very vanilla. The stamp sets are Autumn Days and Teeny Tiny Wishes. The bird and leaves are embossed with iridescent ice and gives it a little pizzazz.
